AHK Iraq attended a meeting with a delegation of UK Parliament members

On September  23rd at 18:30 AHK Iraq was invited at ETTC for the reception of a delegation of UK Parliament members, which consisted of Mr. Nadhim Zahawy from the British Conservative Party who chairs the all parties parliamentary group for Kurdistan , Mr. Jack Lopresti for Filton and Bradely Stoke, Mr. Ian Christopher Austin from the British Labor Party, Mr. Michael James Tomlinson from the British Conservative Party, Mrs. Baroness Fiona Hodgson a Commander of the Order of the British Empire and UK Parliaments,

The highlighted guests were H.E. Mr. John Sharp the Deputy Consul General of UK in Kurdistan, Mr. Lewis Baston who is a writer on politics of the Guardians Publication, and Sir Simon Mayall who is a retired Lieutenant General of UK. 

Also, from the Kurdistan Government Mr. Karwan Jamal Tahir the KRG High Representative in UK, few members of Kurdistan parliament from the PDK party and the Assyryan and Turkmen Minority were present at the event.

A representative of AHK Iraq was present at the event as well. We have presented our self and informed the UK parliament members that we as the representative of the German Companies in Kurdistan and Iraq we are attending the periodic meeting with the other countries economic attaches and chambers of commerce.

The topic of the discussion for the evening was the concerns of Kurdistan Referendum. The Kurdish official stated that they are a bit frustrated from the international actions in regards of their supports for referendum and Kurdish Side expectation was different.

The member of UK Parliament such as Mr. Jack Lopresti and Mr. Nadhim Zahawi gave speeches in their turn, and they have stated that they are supporting Kurdish people, and  they want Kurdish people not to be afraid of representing themselves in the day of referendum and UK is a very democratic country and they support democracy.
